Install Timyo Add-in for Outlook

Timyo Outlook add-in is available through an MSI package that will guide you through the installation process.

The installation of Timyo requires administrator rights on your workstation and the prior installation of the following components:
  1. .NET 4.6 min version
  2. Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime
Microsoft will automatically prompt the installation if these components are not already installed on your workstation.

Before installing:
  • Desactivate Office 365 plugin if you had installed it before (From Office Store -> Search Timyo and deactivate it)
  • Eventually, uninstall the previous version of Timyo Outlook add-in (.exe file)

Launch the installation package (MSI file) Click on "Next" to proceed.
Please note that some protection mechanisms may prompt a warning message about installing additional programs on your environment. Click on "Run anyway".
Example: Windows defender warning.
Read the license agreement and confirm.

Select installation folder and confirm.
First Outlook Launch:
At your first launch of Outlook, an alert window may be displayed to warn you Timyo may cause Outlook to start slowly.

Click on "Always enable this add-in" and the message will never be displayed again.
Then your Outlook experience should be fine.

Email verification to secure the Timyo activation:
A confirmation email will be sent to each account configured in Outlook to confirm the identity. You need to click on the validation link in this email to activate Timyo.
In case of large organization deployment, this validation process can be bypassed on request.

Disable auto-update:
In order to disable auto-update during the install, run the installer with  AutoUpdateEnabled=False parameter:
TimyoOutlookAddinSetup.msi AutoUpdateEnabled=False 

“don’t show me this window again" (version 1.9.x)
Some companies want to make sure users don't forget to complete the Timyo "when" field.
If you are in this context, during the install, run the installer with AlwaysShowWarning=true parameter:

TimyoOutlookAddinSetup.msi AlwaysShowWarning=true

It will disable the checkbox “don’t show me this window again” in the "when field is empty" popup.

Hide remove account menu
In compliance with GDPR, a user can remove his account from the Outlook add-in by clicking on Remove account in Timyo menu. All data associated with this account will be erased within 24 hours.
This menu can be hidden by using the DisableRemoveAccount parameter:

TimyoOutlookAddinSetup.msi DisableRemoveAccount=true
  1. If parameter 'DisableRemoveAccount' is false, Remove Account button and functionality is available for the user
  2. If parameter 'DisableRemoveAccount' is true, Remove Account button os disabled
  3. If parameter 'DisableRemoveAccount' is absent, Remove Account button and functionality is available for the user
Communication between Timyo add-in and Internet
- Communication between Timyo add-in and Timyo server is exclusively performed on standard HTTPS (port 443) with
- Release notes and information about updates are available within the add-in on
- Timyo is collecting analytics data for behavior analysis by using Google analytics service -
